In the summer of 2019, Kodumo embarked on an exhilarating journey to create a haven of luxury amidst the rugged landscapes of Iceland. Torfhús Retreat, a collection of 15 uniquely designed turf house hotel cabins, stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence and resilience in extreme weather conditions.

Challenging Conditions, Impeccable Design: The challenge was set - design and construct hotel cabins that withstand Iceland's formidable wind gusts of up to 68m/s and rain showers that defy gravity. Drawing on our experience and expertise from previous Icelandic projects, we embraced the opportunity to deliver 15 luxurious turf house cabins that seamlessly blend opulence with nature.

Exquisite Craftsmanship and Materials: Collaborating closely with the client, we meticulously brought their vision to life. All designs and drawings were provided by the client, showcasing a level of precision and attention to detail that was truly remarkable. To meet their uncompromising standards, we sourced quality materials from across Europe. Italian ceramic tiles, aged wood panels from Austria, and sanitary equipment from the UK adorned the interiors, ensuring an exquisite and durable finish.

Architectural Marvel - Three Rowhouses: The project comprised three rowhouses, each housing three separate, spacious single-bedroom hotel rooms with en suite bathrooms. This unique design not only maximized the available space but also enhanced the privacy and comfort of each guest.
